Tips

Add new competitors when they show up in roundups. The agent uses them to find "alternatives" posts.
Keep the description factual. Editors respond to specifics, not adjectives.

Questions people ask

Do profile changes affect pitches already sent?

No. They apply to pitches drafted from then on. Pending pitches keep their text unless you edit them.

Should a workflow change the profile automatically?

We'd suggest having it propose the change and letting a person approve it. The profile shapes every pitch the agent writes.

Do I need an API key to use BacklinkGenie from Claude Code?

Yes. Create one in BacklinkGenie under Settings → MCP; keys start with bg_live_. MCP access is on the Growth and Agency plans.
