The short answer

Choose BacklinkGenie
If you want posts found, pitches written per post, and emails sent from a separate domain, with you approving each one.

What the entry price gets you
BuzzStream Starter is $49/month and BacklinkGenie Starter is $99/month. BuzzStream gives you a CRM for 500 contacts; you find, write and send. BacklinkGenie gives you a managed mailbox on its own domain and an agent that does those steps, with up to 1,000 outreach emails a month.
Whose domain is on the line
BuzzStream sends from your existing email. If a cold campaign gets marked as spam, it's your company domain that suffers. BacklinkGenie never uses your main domain for outreach.
Prospecting
BuzzStream Discovery helps you search for prospects, then you decide who to pitch. BacklinkGenie's agent searches, reads each post to judge fit, skips platforms and competitors, checks Domain Rating and finds a verified contact.
Strengths and trade-offs
BacklinkGenie
AI outreach agent
Where it's strong
- Sending domain, Google Workspace mailbox, authentication and ramp-up are included, so cold outreach never touches your main domain.
- You see every prospect considered, can paste your own target posts, and keep a domain blocklist.
- Every pitch passes a quality gate (recipient lock, link allowlist, no payment offers) before it can send.
- Won links are re-checked weekly with an alert if they're removed or turned nofollow.
Where it falls short
- A new product: fewer public reviews than tools that have been around for years.
- Each new mailbox ramps up over about a month, so volume builds gradually.
- No guaranteed link count; editors decide what to publish.
- Not a full PR CRM for teams managing journalist relationships by hand.
BuzzStream
Outreach CRM for PR and link building
Where it's strong
- Affordable entry point for a solo user, with a free trial.
- Strong at relationship tracking: notes, history and team visibility on every contact.
- Used for both digital PR and link building, so it works across campaign types.
Where it falls short
- The Starter plan caps you at 500 contacts, and automations start at $174 a month.
- No sending infrastructure: emails go from your own address, so a bad campaign hits your main domain's reputation.
- Prospecting, writing and follow-up are still your job.
When BacklinkGenie isn't the right pick
- Your outreach is mostly to journalists you already know, where a hand-written note matters more than speed.

Any outreach tool is only as good as two things it can't fix on its own: the list of posts you pitch and whether your email lands. Our best-of list guide covers the first; our notes on sending from Google Workspace covers the second. If you're new to the process, start with the complete link outreach process.
