Reply to editors from n8n
A pitch only turns into a link when someone answers the editor quickly and makes the change easy: which section, what anchor text, a sentence they can paste.
BacklinkGenie sorts replies into hot, warm, paid offer, neutral and cold, and drafts the next message for the interested ones. Your assistant can show you who needs an answer and put the draft in front of you in seconds.

When a BacklinkGenie reply is classified as hot, post the editor's message and the drafted reply to #growth so someone can send it from the dashboard.
In n8n, leave approve_draft and send_reply out of the tools you give the agent. Use the workflow to notify people, and approve or send from BacklinkGenie or a chat assistant.

list_replies filters by status: hot (said yes), warm (interested), paid (asked for money), neutral, cold or closed.

get_conversation returns the full exchange, so the reply stays consistent with what was already said.

Draft and send
generate_reply writes the next message but doesn't send it. send_reply sends text you've confirmed, after the quality check.

Hot reply from makeuseof.com: "Happy to add Margin, where would it fit?" Drafted reply suggests the "Citation tools" section with the anchor "Margin". Posted to #growth for review.
Tips
- Ask for a one-line summary of each reply before reading full threads.
- For paid-link requests, ask for a polite decline that offers a free account or an expert quote instead. Offering payment fails the quality check.
- Answer hot replies the same day. Editors move on.

Questions people ask
Does BacklinkGenie send replies automatically?
No. Replies are drafted automatically for interested editors, but nothing is sent until you, or your assistant with your go-ahead, call send_reply.
What about editors who ask for payment?
They're marked as a paid offer. We don't buy links, and any reply that offers payment is rejected by the quality check. A polite no with a free alternative often still gets the link.
Do I need an API key to use BacklinkGenie from n8n?
Yes. Create one in BacklinkGenie under Settings → MCP; keys start with bg_live_. MCP access is on the Growth and Agency plans.
