Pitch email generator
A good pitch email names the editor, proves you read their work, offers one thing that suits their readers and asks one easy question. Pick the kind of pitch, type the specifics and this tool writes a short plain-text draft and subject line you can edit and send.

How to write a pitch email that gets a reply
- Pick the right person and page. A great email to the wrong blog still fails. Pitch people who already publish the kind of thing you're offering.
- Open with them, not you. The first line should name their post, episode or article and one specific point from it. That's the line that proves you aren't sending the same email to 500 people.
- Make one offer. One product, one story angle, three topic ideas at most. A list of everything you could do reads as a template.
- Ask a question that's easy to answer. "Would it be worth a look?" or "Should I send an outline?" gets more replies than "Let me know your thoughts."
- Keep it plain. No attachments, no images and at most one link in a first email. Plain text lands in the inbox more often.
Which pitch type to choose
| You want | Pick | Full template |
|---|---|---|
| A byline on someone else's blog | Guest post | guest post pitch examples |
| Your product in a "best X" post | Best-of list | listicle inclusion template |
| A link added to an article that already ranks | Link insertion | link insertion request |
| A spot on a curated list of links | Resource page | resource page email |
| An interview on a show | Podcast guest | podcast guest pitch |
| Press coverage for news or data | Journalist | media pitch template |
Pitching is one step in a longer process. The link building outreach guide covers finding prospects, follow-ups and handling replies, and the follow-up planner works out when to nudge if nobody answers. Pitching a journalist about news? Write the release first with the press release generator and link it in your email.
Questions people ask
What should a pitch email to an editor include?
Four things: their name, proof you read their work (a post title or a specific point), one sentence on what you offer and why it suits their readers, and a single easy ask. Leave out attachments, long bios and links beyond one. Most pitches that get replies are under 150 words.
Is this an AI writer?
No. It fills proven pitch structures with the details you type, using fixed rules in your browser. That's deliberate: the details are what make a pitch work, and only you know them. Use the draft as a starting point and rewrite any line that sounds like it could go to anyone.
How long should a pitch email be?
Short enough to read on a phone without scrolling: roughly 60 to 150 words. Editors decide in the first two lines whether to keep reading, so put the specific detail and the offer there. The generator shows a word count so you can trim before you send.
Which subject line works best for a pitch?
One that names their post or show, in plain words, under about 50 characters. "Your note-taking apps list" beats "Partnership opportunity" because it can only be about them. Avoid all caps, exclamation marks and fake "Re:" prefixes. Test yours in the subject line tester before you send.
Does anything I type get sent to a server?
No. The email is assembled with JavaScript on this page. Names, sites and product details never leave your browser.
